Motorcycles- Bless you Ed!!! Sunday Stills Theme…

The Next Challenge: Motorcycles

This can also include mopeds, scooters, vespas, trikes or bikes with sidecars like the one in the demo pic. Also just parts of motorcycles too. Thanks to “the Rider” for the inspiration for this challenge, hope you get some great touring done this week..:-)

Probably the first time ever I have inspired a challenge… I am happy!

So I have scrolled through my own photos, and decided to post just a few-  a few hundred would not do…

First- my own sweet rides:

My BMW R850 R at the iconic pub on Route 62, South Africa…

My Aprilia Pegaso with me and my namesake… watch his facial expression closely- a biker getting formed… 🙂

And then- a selection of bikes I have seen at the Poison Rally through the past few years- It is the only rally I get to attend each year in South Africa, because I have this nasty habit of working on Sundays… 🙂 Some of them also from my yearly travels down to Cape Town…

Washday… maybe a few clean jokes too…

ImageEuropean Motorbikes still remains the most beautiful!  Mine got washed at sunset yesterday, because I am longing for a trip…

I just want to wish all my American friends a very happy 4th of July- never let go of freedom!

Tomorrow I am conducting my 4th funeral in 4 weeks time. So I am not in the mood today to write the Daily Prompt about a deep laugh…

But that does not apply to you, so read these blogs for a good laugh today…

Daily Prompt: From the Gut

Tell us about the last time you had a real, deep, crying-from-laughing belly laugh.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us JOYFUL.

Ok- a clean joke or two…

For my Afrikaans readers, maybe the Dutch ones will also understand- the last good laugh I had wasyesterday when a friend has shown me this-  Attie, the Gynecologist on the Francois Toerien Show:   Lekker, man, lekker!  ( I am not sure yet how to put a Youtube link up…

It is also now the winter hunting season around our town, you just have to dodge bullets the whole day long…  For all my duck hunting friends- just be very careful out there…

My Biking friends- keep the rubber at the bottom…

And lastly…

Biker friends, PLEASE ride safe!

Crosscountry by Motorcycle

Daily Prompt: Trains, Planes, and Automobiles

by michelle w. on June 26, 2013

You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, or car? (Or something else entirely — bike? Hot air balloon?)

Photographers, artists, poets: show us TRAVEL.

The way I love to travel the most is on any one of my MOTORCYCLES!

Even more so when it is cross-country. I live in the Northern part of South Africa, and Cape Town is 1650 km south, (1000 miles more or less…)

These are just some of the memories- both these bikes are standing outside my house at the moment, both are ready to ride… for I am the RIder!

The Rides of the Rider…

I have never done this before. I have never created a WordPress gallery. And I have never put the six motorbikes that I have owned on the same page before. So this is an experiment.

They are: 1983 Honda MTX 50, 1982 Honda MB5, 1981 Honda CB 400 N, 1981 Honda CB 750F, 2000 Aprilia Pegaso (650), 2000 BMW R 850R
