Today, being my day off, I went to my favorite coffee shop. Had two cups of decaf- life is really about adaptation! I miss my high octane java! And the wifi didn’t work there as well… But as I walked out, my eye caught this beautiful water lily. My favorite coffee shop has quite a few koi dams, and other fountains of various design. I only had my mobile phone to take the picture. But it is beautiful to me!

Movement- Daily Prompt
http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2014/02/27/prompt-dance/
I want to do the Photographer’s Challenge for today’s Daily Prompt- Movement. The moment is my younger colleague, dancing with his bride for the first time as a married couple on their wedding day. I enjoyed it a lot, I married them!
I am a hopelessly lost romantic at heart, there is something so beautiful about this first dance together for me…
A Bull story for Ed’s Cows in Sunday Stills…
http://sundaystills.wordpress.com/2014/02/24/sunday-stills-the-next-challenge-cows/
Ed has asked for any bovine photos… Well, I don’t want to sound like a Texan, I don’t have the right to do that for never being in the USA, ever… But we do have some really really big bovine examples around here.
One of the cattle species very popular around here is the Brahman race. And here are two examples- sorry Ed, no cows in sight in my archives… But then, we live in the area of the Blue Bulls in Super 15 rugby, which only the Southern Hemisphere and some Englishmen would understand…

This bull sold at auction for the equivalent of $ 40 000. They are supposed to be fierce, but around here even our boys have a bull under control soon… 🙂
Now I only wish the rugby playing Bulls could perform as well as these beautiful animals!
Another old wreck…
This week I don’t seem to have much on my mind. I am busy planning my Motorbike trip to Cape Town next month, and am getting really excited. My BMW got an oil change, and a new front tire. I thought that I could put a Dueller tire, like the Metzeler Tourance in front, as I have in the back. Now I find out that the Roadster’s 18″ front tire do not come in any Dueller tires. So I opted for a Bridgestone Spitfire, as that was available in our town…
As I do not have many words in my heart at the moment, I will share another one of Saturday’s wrecks that my daughter and I have photographed. I also have no idea what this is- maybe an older petrolhead can help us out with the info!!
White- Cee’s Fun Photo Challenge
Monday Morning Blues…
The thought that I am going to miss this year’s Argus Cycle Race, is really getting me down. It will be the first one since 1995 that I miss, after completing 19 in a row successfully. So this is how I feel this morning:
I could not decide between this original colour or sepia tone:
I also have to cut down seriously on coffee, as it really gives me gall attacks, and that is also traumatic…
I hope your week looks better than my Monday!
Ps- these are some of Saturday’s photos from that session me and my daughter enjoyed together…

The old ’56 Ford…
My daughter is studying Graphic Design, with Photography as one of her main subjects. She came home this weekend with an assignment: she has to photograph cars. Old ones, and brand new stock photos. I do not know anybody with a brand new grand car…
But one of the farmers in our church, I found out, has an old 1956 Ford in his shed. So we went there. And some other places afterwards. I enjoyed myself, and took a lot of photos. I am not sure if she got what she wanted, but I enjoyed another day out with my daughter and our cameras…
Here is some of the old Ford in the shed- can someone shed some light on the model? 🙂
I will probably share some more photos of a few other old car wrecks we saw this morning in the coming week…
Work- Ailsa’s Weekly Travel Theme
http://wheresmybackpack.com/2014/02/21/travel-theme-work/
While Ailsa is asking about work, let me share a small view of my work with you…
Well, I once had the chance to visit Turkey on a work related trip. I love your country, Uncle Spike! Here I am hard at work… (or not…) at the ruins of Ephesus, near Selcuk…

Sometimes I preach…

My office on a Sunday…

Sometimes I marry people…
- Sometimes I drive people around in a bus…
And so it is really hard to define all the different parts of my work, being a rural country pastor in a church… I love people, and love serving them in so many ways…
