Daily Prompt: Earworm

by michelle w. on July 10, 2013

Write whatever you normally write about, and weave in a book quote, film quote, or song lyric that’s been sticking with you this week.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us INSPIRATION.

I choose to be silent…

No inspiration…

Quote: Bible-  Proverbs 17:28:  “Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.”

George Bernard Shaw– Choose silence of all virtues, for by it you hear other men’s imperfections, and conceal your own.

  4. Ok- the reason I am so quiet- when I was visiting a friend tonight, he just heard that his daughter at university’s car was stolen. “They” also tried to steal my daughter’s car last year. South Africa has such a high crime rate. We fathers of daughters try to buy reliable cars for our kids, because if a car breaks down at night, there is a huge rape risk. But reliable cars are wanted cars. When a car gets stolen, it is chopped up in less than 2 hours. When you report a stolen car, nothing gets done about it. Your insurance goes through the roof, and there is no way you get even nearly the money the car is worth anyway. Universities are very expensive for the middle class, and a stolen car car really ruin a child’s future around here… The nice Afrikaans word is GATVOL. When you have had enough of a situation, but are powerless to change it.
