One rainy day in Léon

One rainy day in Léon

This statue stands just outside the Cathedral in Léon. What would it mean? What do you see in it?

  1. Wow… You are right! It is intriguing! I will go for a far-out guess here: it looks like a grown man and his inner child. The grown man accepts his fate and stands there, passively, in front of the church (surrender or opression?), while his inner child shows curiosity by the world, wants more and is turning away to explore life……. Ok, imagination is free, right? Great blog! Thanks for your visit 🙂

  2. I see a broken family: the boy is eagerly awaiting the mother to pick him up, after having spent some time with his dad. The father clearly is less enthusiastic to see her… So I’m guessing they didn’t break up on good terms! But then again, they’re just statues 😉

  3. Yes, I know, I should have stepped to the left to get the lady with the umbrella in as well- but I was soaking wet and shivering, and took this photo real quickly before I went inside to sit in the Cathedral and enjoy the music and the stained glass windows…

  4. Stern facial expressions, looking in different directions, trying to prevent the child moving away… a relationship in difficulty! Am I right?
