Word Riders 2013 day 5 Blyderivierspoort to Nelspruit.

Today was a day of gratitude and rest… relatively speaking of course!

We started the morning by going to a vantage point to see the beautiful panorama of the Three Rondavels…

Then the fun started. We visited the Bourke’s Luck Potholes- a place of immense natural beauty. And it is well worth visiting, despite the management by the Parks Board. I mean really- R30 entry and nothing to drink for sale inside. No coffee, no cooldrink, just tap water.

But nature more than makes up for human behaviour!

It is a place where the Treur (Sorrow) river meets the Blyde (happiness) river. Over millenia the water carved the most beautiful sculptures out of the soft sandstone.

As you can see- beautiful!

After spending some time there, we went off to Graskop, where the NG Kerk prepared a lunch for us.

After a lovely meal we set off again, this time with the irresponsible bunch (including me!) in front. That is the guys who want to see where the limits are…sorry mom! Keep on praying!

The road from Graskop to Sabie is huge fun, and from Sabie to Nelspruit even more so!

Tonight we are attending a function in Nelspruit, and will be leaving soon. More about that in the next post.

It is extremely hot in the Lowveld again today. So this happened until now…

a Very good evening to all you 3 readers of my blog!

  1. Wat ‘n fees !!! Ek is waarlik jaloers op ‘n goeie manier – as daar ooit so iets is = )

Ek hou veral van die Blyderivier wat met die Treurrivier saamsmelt. Die konsep werk vir my
